Orange Community Nursery School

Orange Community Nursery School Orange Community Nursery School is a cooperative, non-profit preschool run by a Director. The 5’s kindergarten readiness class meets Monday-Friday from 9-1:00.

OCNS currently has a 3's class which meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9-11:30am for Regular Day and 9-1:30pm for Extended Day. The 4's class meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-11:30am for Regular Day and 9-1:30pm for Extended Day. Both the 3’s & 4’s Regular Day students can also take advantage of our Lunch Bunch from 11:30-12:30pm. This program is for children who turn 5 in l

ate summer and fall who may need more time socially and academically before starting kindergarten. Each class has licensed teachers and a parent of the day* present (*will apply again when Covid restrictions are lessened). We have a small student-teacher ratio creating a nurturing environment. Our school is food allergy friendly and nut-free.

The 4’s class learned about the life cycle of butterflies. The caterpillars arrived in late April. The class watched them grow and change. We recorded our observations in a journal. This week we released them on the playground. We found our butterflies enjoying the clover in the grass. 🦋🦋

We have been busy at OCNS! We’ve enjoyed visits from people in our community. We’ve been busy making pizzas in our pizza shop and working together on puzzles. We have been watching our caterpillars grow and change, the 4s class are recording their observations weekly.
The 4s class enjoyed special persons day and the 3s class had a special moms day tea party.

It’s been a wonderful year of learning, growth and friendships.
We are excited for our last days of school.

🚲🚲OCNS had their annual Trike-A-Thon fundraiser event today. The cold didn’t stop us from having a great time! Thank you to the Orange Police department for talking to us about bike safety. Thank you to all the older siblings for your help with the stickers for each lap. Thank you to the 5’s class for hosting a wonderful event!
