Last week I participated in IMPACT Day and delivered 500 animal themed backpacks filled with fun activity kits to CHOC.
I also helped decorate first homes for former foster youth with 300 floral bouquets, 275 pictures for kids rooms, 200 framed art pieces, 25 bookshelves, and 300 stuffed animals.
As a group, we . . .
• Helped brighten the day of 375 seniors in our community with button bouquets.
• Provided the unhoused with 2,000 hygiene kits, 1,000 snack packs and 1,000 filled duffel bags.
• Created 1,500 fun packs for kids in children’s hospitals.
• Assembled 60 trikes and bikes for kids.
• Donated more than 1,300 children’s books!

After two years of hibernation, due to precautions of covid, the City of Lake Forest emerged to celebrate its 31st hometown Fourth of July Parade with Michael Varma and Larissa Clark as parade announcers sharing this year’s theme of “The Parade is Back in Town.”
More than 70 parade float entries walked, biked, drove by and entertained the 2,000 residents that lined the streets of the one-mile-long parade route.
Participants included US Marine Corps 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company from Camp Pendleton, a 1902 American Steam Fire Engine pulled a couple of crown horses from Orange County’s California Fire Museum, and Hot Rods Unlimited which is one of Orange County’s friendly social car clubs.
And before the parade, Michael helped kick off the day by djaying the El Toro Charger’s 5K race. Feels great to play classic 4th of July songs with a strong driving beat for your running feet.
