“Being a student at Bayan helped me grow immensely as a person of faith and a student of sacred knowledge… The staff, professors, and students at Bayan were excellent.”

For Bayan alum Wendy Diaz, graduate education became more than earning a degree. It was a journey of growth—deepening her faith, expanding her understanding, and learning alongside a community rooted in excellence and service.

At Bayan, students don't simply gain knowledge. They are formed by it, equipped to lead with wisdom, and inspired to serve with purpose long after graduation.

“I want that foundational understanding, that foundational learning, and the credentials that come with it to help lead the work of leadership in the community that I'm already called to do.”

For Nasir Majeed, graduate education isn't about changing direction—it's about strengthening the path he's already walking.

As a student in Bayan's Master of Arts (MA) with a Concentration in Islamic Organizational Leadership, Nasir is deepening his knowledge to expand his impact, equipping himself to lead with wisdom, integrity, and purpose in the communities he is called to serve.

If you're ready to transform knowledge into meaningful action, take the next step with Bayan.

Nasif Majeed is pursuing a Master’s in Islamic Studies at Bayan Islamic Graduate School to strengthen the leadership work he is already called to do. He came to Bayan seeking the foundation, knowledge, and credentials needed to serve his community with greater clarity and impact.

Even early in his studies, Nasif has begun making connections between what he is learning and the work ahead. Bayan is helping him imagine how grassroots leadership can grow into sustainable institutional change.

His vision is to build his organization into a more established force for community transformation—one with the capacity to secure funding, support civic leadership, and help create the change communities urgently need.

What does it mean to study Islam in a way that prepares a person to serve?

For Numan Ali Dugmeoglu, who recently graduated from Bayan Islamic Graduate School with a Master of Arts in Islamic Studies, that question has never been abstract. It has lived in classrooms, counseling sessions, youth programs, community gatherings, and quiet conversations with students searching for direction.

Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, Numan has spent the past decade serving as a teacher, youth director, community leader, spiritual caregiver, and chaplain. At Bayan, he deepened the connection between Islamic tradition, pastoral care, spiritual formation, and the lived realities of American Muslim communities.

That integration now shapes his work as Muslim Chaplain at Cornell University.

“Everything is about love and service,” Dugmeoglu said. “My door is open to anyone from any faith who is on a journey toward connection with a higher power. We want to cultivate an environment that makes space for everyone’s identity and personal experience.”

At Cornell, Numan accompanies students through questions of faith, identity, purpose, and belonging. His work reflects the kind of applied Islamic scholarship Bayan seeks to cultivate: grounded in tradition, responsive to contemporary realities, and oriented toward service.

For Numan, graduation is not an endpoint. It is part of a continuing path of learning, responsibility, and compassionate presence.
