"You told your story and I didn't just listen--I truly heard
My memories are now added to yours, and others will hear
Because I heard you."
It is with incredible sadness that we share the passing of Holocaust survivor and former president of The 1939 Society, Gertrude Goetz. Her video testimony inspired many students over the years, including top-placing student poets Ashton Carroll (2014) and Shiri Kaplan (2021). We hope you will take the time to listen to her story and may her memory be a blessing. https://youtu.be/VyIDdmOiOhE
