Happy Earth Day, Dons! 🌎🎉
Earth Day is a reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability, encouraging us to come together and take action for a healthier planet and brighter future.
This year’s theme shines a light on a serious environmental issue—plastics. Plastic pollution is one of the most important environmental problems that we face today. It impacts the environment and our health and wellbeing.
There are three simple acts that make an endless impact:
✍🏽Sign the Global Plastics Treaty
👗Reject fast fashion
🤝Join the Great Gloval Cleanup

In honor of 🌎 World Health Day, we want to feature one of our many international students at the OC Campus—Honorine Uwimana, MPH ‘23.
Honorine hopes to utilize the many skills that she’s learning in our program to improve the global health equity condition. She says, “I represent many of the minorities of at-risk populations discussed
in most of my public health coursework and reports: women, immigrants, Black, from a region of the world classified as low-income. It would be a broken oath not to elevate my voice…to advocate for all.”
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 We commend you, Honorine, in your commitment to health equity! Thank you for the research and work that you do in public health!
