Dr. Salvador Jr. S. Pante is an outstanding educator, scholar, and community leader whose career reflects the values of the Philippine Normal University—excellence, leadership, and service.
At PNU, he became a student-leader, holding key editorial roles for The Torch, the university’s official student publication. His contributions to campus journalism earned him the prestigious Graciano B. Lopez-Jaena Award in 2004. He graduated cm laude with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in History, and was among the department’s top awardees for academic excellence. He later earned his post-baccalaureate diploma in Educational Management from the Philippine Christian University, and recently obtained his doctorate in Philosophy, focused on development administration and education governance.
He worked as a Social Studies teacher at San Beda College Alabang (2004–2011), broadened his experience by teaching in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2011–2016), and pursued graduate studies at PNU while teaching History and Economics at a public secondary school in Cavite. In 2018, Dr. Pante joined a public charter school in Michigan that serves court-adjudicated juveniles as a Certified History Teacher in Michigan and a PRAXIS passer. Throughout his teaching career, he’s been a consistent championship mentor/coach, trainer, facilitator, judge, and evaluator here and abroad.
Dr. Pante’s civic engagement has made a significant impact on the Filipino-American community. He was the founding President of UNIFFIED-Michigan, served as Director of Paaralang Pilipino in Michigan, Secretary and Board Member of the Filipino-American Community Council (FILAMCCO) from 2022–2023, Editor-in-Chief of the PILIPINAS eNewsletter (2022–2025), highlighting stories of Filipino-American achievements, unity, and heritage.
A sought-after resource speaker, he delivers professional development sessions in the Philippines focusing on instructional coaching, differentiation instruction, collaborative learning, and trauma-informed teaching. Currently, Dr. Pante teaches History, Government, and Economics at the Infinity Institute of Learning, providing education to the at-risk youth at the Wayne County Detention Center.
He is a member of the United Federation of Fil-AM Educators, Inc. (UNIFFIED), the Philippine Normal University Global Alumni Association, Inc., and the Kiwanis Cosmopolitan Club of Detroit and the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce in Michigan to further his community engagement and volunteer work. His professional and volunteer work exemplifies the enduring legacy of the PNU-trained teacher: one who teaches with purpose, leads with integrity, and serves with heart.
