Hope Academy is a private Special Education program approved by the Connecticut State Department of Education that serves students in grades 1-12 who have not met with success in a traditional academic setting. A transition program is also offered for students between the ages of 18-21 who require functional academic, post-secondary, employment, and/or independent living services. Hope Academy pro
vides a supportive, therapeutic learning environment for students with Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD and Emotional Impairments such as Anxiety Disorders. Using a strengths-based, student-centered approach, we individualize each student’s services to match his or her learning profile. Each student at Hope Academy receives individual or small-group instruction aligned with Connecticut Common Core Standards as well as targeted intervention using specialized methodologies when appropriate. Emphasis is placed on college and career readiness and the development of executive functioning skills. Daily access to social emotional learning and regular opportunities to practice self-regulation skills are embedded into the school-wide system of positive behavior supports. Hope Academy welcomes inquiries and referrals from parents, school districts and community agencies.
