On the Florida Campus we believe that worship is the central act of the people of God. Whatever is learned in the classroom, discovered in the library, or acted out in the ministry lives of students, it is in Chapel that students experience the act of community and spiritual formation that epitomizes the Asbury experience. Students are encouraged to come and hear dynamic speakers and to participat

e in outstanding worship, led by our chapel music director, Rev. Dawn Salmons and our Dean of the Chapel, Dr. Jeffrey W. Services are held weekly on Tuesdays at 5:30, following dinner, and on Fridays at 11:30, to be followed by lunch, and are also scheduled to coincide with the concentrated classes offered during hybrid weeks, January term, and summer sessions. The Florida campus has recently received a $500,000 grant from the Lily Foundation to promote Excellence in Preaching among Hispanic and African American clergy. As a result our Chapel will be upgrading its equipment in order to produce video broadcasts. Come join us in person for Chapel when you are on campus or join with us when we post our services in video format. Either way, Chapel worship remains the central act of the students, faculty, and staff of the Florida Campus of Asbury Seminary.

On Friday at 11:30 we are hosting our first Asbury Seminary Florida Chapel series for January. We are looking at the future of the church and of how we worship, minister and are on mission. This seems so important considering all the issues related to the pandemic, churches meeting in ways other than in one place, etc. What does the future of the church look like? To help us noted Futurist Leonard Sweet and Asbury Seminary grad Michael Beck will help us think about what's coming next. Everyone is welcome to attend.

On Friday, April 6 from 10-3 Asbury Seminary Orlando will be hosting a Round Table discussion on preaching. The discussion will be centering on Introductions and Conclusions and hosted by the Dean of the Chapel and Associate Professor of Preaching, Dr. Jeffrey W. Frymire. The seminar is open to all current students, alumni, pastors, and staffs. All you have to do is respond to this notice with a number of attendees. Lunch will be provided and all participants will be able to attend a Chapel service as part of the seminar. Join us for the "Ins and Outs of Preaching."

We would also like to invite all the graduating seniors to attend the Tuesday Chapel during graduation week. It is a testimony chapel in which we hope to give opportunity for graduates to share their testimonies about how God has formed and shaped them during their Asbury journey. There will be a time of recognizing our graduates, prayer and anointing.
