I had the opportunity to attend the incredible student production of Out of SightâŚOut of Murder at Orange High School, and I am so proud of the talent, creativity, and dedication of our students and educators.
From the acting to the production design, this performance showcased the power of the arts in bringing learning to life. Our Performing Arts programs continue to create spaces where students can express themselves, build confidence, and collaborate in meaningful ways.
Thank you to the Panther Playhouse, Dr. Rivas, and all the students who made this show such a success. Opportunities like this remind us why investing in arts education matters for every child.
If you havenât had a chance to support our student performers, I encourage you to attend future productionsâyou wonât be disappointed!

What an unforgettable night at Fred Kelly Stadium! Superintendent MonĂĄrrez and I joined our Cabinet to cheer on Villa Park. We also had the chance to visit with Caitlyn, our amazing student representative from VP, who was out there performing in the rain with so much heart. Thatâs true Spartan spirit!
Even with the weather pouring down, the team stayed focused and powered through with a 30â6 win over Great Oak, securing their first trip to the CIF-SS Division 4 semifinals since 2018. The defense set the tone all night, forcing big turnovers and keeping the momentum strong.
Next week, the semifinals come HOME: Villa Park will host San Jacinto, following their close win over top-seeded Charter Oak.
Proud of our student-athletes, performers, coaches, and the entire Spartan community. Onward, Spartans!

Our incredible Student Representatives spent the day preparing for the upcoming Board Meeting and getting a behind-the-scenes look at how our district runs!
They toured our Transportation Services, where just four skilled mechanics maintain over 150 vehicles, ensuring our students get to and from school safely every day.
They also visited our Central Kitchen, where the dedicated Nutrition Services team prepares over 10,000 meals daily for students across Orange Unified.
Itâs inspiring to see our student leaders learning how every department works together to support student success!
