LCM Transportation employees returned for our school year in full force! Their year started with Convocation and moved straight into extensive trainings.
Trainings included were our annual Bus Driver Safety Training from our LCM Chief of Police, Mike Hennigan; our annual Department Employee Training with , Director of Transportation Georgia Nichols and Trainer, Sherri Ellis; our annual CPI Training with Director of Special Education, Buffy Knight and Guest speaker, Holli Fregia; Region V SPED Safety Training with Joe Reese; and our annual Safety on the Move/Stop the Bleed training with our Director of Health Services, Kelly Meadows and Acadiana. We also annually attend Orientation/Meet the Teacher each year. They also met to focus on Routes for their new year with several hours of planning and also driving these routes in advance of our first day of the school year.
We cannot say enough how thankful we are for all of our Transportation Employees. These individuals start their days as early as 4 am and don’t end their typical days until around 6 pm. We are so grateful for their hard work and perseverance. It takes a special person to do what they do!

Route 11's Primary will be about 20 minutes behind their normal pick up times. Route 14's and Route 11's Secondary will not start pick up until around 7:15 a.m. South Teal area from Route 11 will be picked up 20 minutes earlier than their normal scheduled pick up time for Primary and Secondary routes.

Good evening. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, there will be no Route 23 tomorrow, 8/20/26. We will be splitting Route 23 between the rest of our Mauriceville routes. Please understand that these changes are the best alternative while we are experiencing this dilemma. Also be aware that if we must do this in the future, this will be the Route that will be dissolved on these types of days. So, this will at least be the same schedule and not change each time we would need to do this. When this occurs, the following will be the approximate schedule. We appreciate your understanding as we safely transport your students to and from their pickup/drop off locations.

Good morning. Due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be no Route 19 today.
When this occurs the AM route goes as follows:
Route 19 (1442 and Linscomb) we have their pick up start around 5:45 AM. Route 15’s pick up will start immediately after this area of Route 19 is completed.
Route 21 will have their pick up start around 5:45 AM. Then route 19 (1136 area and turtle) will start immediately after Route 21 is completed.
Route 7 will have their pick up start at their normal time. Then they will follow with Route 19’s part of 1130 around 6:25 AM. Immediately following around approximately 6:30 AM, Route 15’s part of Highway 12 (from 1136 to Highway 62 towards Mauriceville) will be picked up around 6:30 AM. Crosstimber and Woodridge will follow this at approximately 6:30 AM as well.
Please understand these are estimated times. Please make sure all students are visible at their designated pick up locations and are out a little earlier than the estimated times to ensure pick up. We know this is a very short notice and not ideal, but this is the only solution to be able to safely transport all students in this unfortunate situation. Thank you for your understanding.
