Moderation is the cardinal virtue that regulates the desires for pleasure. Through the habit of moderation, reason restrains excessive desire and indulgence without rejecting the goodness of pleasant things. True moderation, then, is not simply the suppression of desire, but is a habit by which reason permeates desire itself, so that it may tend toward its proper end and contribute to human happiness. Taken in its most general sense, moderation refers to reason’s regulation of every human act of passion. https://bit.ly/3TXFaGB

🇺🇸 Today, OCCA students gathered to celebrate Constitution Day and reflect on the principles and freedoms established by our nation’s founding document.

We were honored to open the assemblies with a beautiful performance of our National Anthem at both our campuses. Here is a clip from our Upper School, sung by one of our talented OCCA students, a fitting beginning to a day centered on citizenship and gratitude.

Happy Constitution Day from OCCA! 🇺🇸

Happy 250th Birthday America!

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a courageous nation was born, rooted in the revolutionary idea that all men are created equal. Through generations of struggle and triumph, the American spirit has proven resilient. We celebrate the bravery of those who built this beautiful country.

Happy Semiquincentennial OCCA families! May we continue to guard the permanent things and pass the torch of freedom to the ages to come.
