I collected my Florida Power-Library School banner today at the FAME Conference! This was my renewal banner since I first achieved FPLS status 5 years ago with Mrs. Darlene Goodier.
Unfortunately, the banner has little meaning anymore as I am no longer the library media specialist at Ridgeview High School, but life goes on. I’m still celebrating my accomplishment because I worked hard for this!

ANNOUNCEMENT:
I am excited to start a new chapter professionally this week… I have accepted a position as Library Manager at Florida State College at Jacksonville’s Cecil Center! 🎉
(I am actually returning to FSCJ; I worked at Kent Campus as a Library Assistant 10 years ago before I became a media specialist at Ridgeview High School.)

If you had asked me a few years ago about my career plans, I never would have anticipated leaving Clay County District Schools. But I am certain that now is the right time for a change. I loved working at FSCJ before, and I am looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities ahead in running an academic library!

P.S. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me, encouraged me, supported me, and lamented with me as I have been put through the wringer over the last nearly two years.
I especially want to thank my husband for being so caring, invested, and supportive during this incredibly stressful time. Thank you for being here for me every step of the way. ❤️

I meant to post this thank you two weeks ago, but FiRsT wEeKs oF sChOoL have left me dead most days. THANK YOU .kinder & .jana & & your family for the lovely gifts for this school year! I definitely cried when I read the notes. 🥹

I forgot to take a *true* Before picture (I had actually done a LOT of work before I took these photos). But this is my “Before Pre-Planning” picture of my new classroom. (And no- I didn’t paint that wall yellow. I prefer a calmer blue.) Getting prepared for the students’ first day is always a nerve-wracking time!
