Last Thursday, Britt McTammany ‘87 came to speak to the 6th grade about his time at St. Johns, share stories from his professional life, and why he will always have fond memories of our school and stays connected in as many ways as he can.

Britt is a creative with incredible vision whose work spans photography, videography, filmmaking, and visual storytelling across industries. He’s collaborated with many other artists, including fellow SJ alums. Britt has also maintained a strong connection to the school by lending his skills on numerous photography projects over the years. Thanks for stopping by, Britt!

This week’s features Drew Frick '93 from the St. Johns Country Day School Class of 1993!

Alumni Ambassador Gayle Simpson Garrison '94 caught up with Drew at a Jaguars game alongside fellow Spartan Kristy Ward Frein '95.

Drew recently took on a new role as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the Tampa Bay Rays, bringing with him an impressive career spanning law, real estate, and professional sports. Before joining the Rays, Drew spent more than four years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he served as Senior Vice President of Real Estate and Development and helped lead the organization's efforts to revitalize Downtown Jacksonville.

A Clemson University graduate with a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, Drew has continued to make an impact in the Jacksonville community and beyond.

And, of course, his Spartan roots remain close to his heart. Drew and his wife, fellow St. Johns alum Andrea Grantham Frick '92, are proud parents to two daughters, Ellie and Katie.

When asked about his favorite St. Johns memory, Drew didn't hesitate: the soccer team's trip to Germany! 🇩🇪⚽️ Alongside his teammates and even some cheerleaders, Drew traveled through Germany and Austria, participated in a student exchange program, and took on some European "footballers." While the team may not have won every game, they certainly came home with plenty of unforgettable memories!

We love seeing where our Spartans go and the incredible things they continue to accomplish!

This week’s features Jack Ensell from the St. Johns Country Day School Class of 2024!

Jack was part of a historic chapter in Spartan Athletics, helping lead St. Johns Baseball to the school’s first-ever State Championship before graduating in 2024.

After St. Johns, Jack continued his academic and athletic career at Barry University, where he put together a great freshman year on the baseball field. Following the season, Jack entered the transfer portal and earned an opportunity to take the next step in his journey at the University of Miami.

While competing for the Hurricanes this upcoming season, Jack plans to continue pursuing his degree in Exercise Physiology.

From making history in Carolina Blue to continuing his baseball career at one of the most recognizable programs in college baseball, we are proud to see Jack representing the Spartan tradition at the next level.

Congratulations, Jack! Once a Spartan, Always a Spartan!

We were delighted to welcome back alum Nancy Bachana ’85 to campus! During her visit to the library, she read to our Lower School students and shared her book, "The Key to Puzzler's Lock".

Students enjoyed hearing the story, playing a fun game of Captain Says, and learning historical canal shipping terms like “hoggee” and “hoodledasher.” Thank you to Nancy for spending time with our students. We are so proud to celebrate our amazing alumni!

Senior year has officially begun! 👑

Before the first bell even rang, our seniors kicked off their final year the Spartan way with one of our favorite traditions! From painting their names along the road to decorating their senior crowns, these Spartans got a chance to celebrate the start of a year they'll never forget.

The road is painted, the crowns are ready, and the Class of 2027 is officially on their way! 🎓✨

So great to see some familiar faces on campus today! Ainsley Costarakis ‘25 and Kelsey Gregson ‘25 stopped by to visit with their first (now third!) grade buddies and see some former teachers. They are both getting ready to return to FSU for the fall semester, where Ainsley is studying on a pre-law track and Kelsey is studying environmental sciences.

We were also treated to a visit by Nicky Glassman ‘19 and Ian Duncan ‘20 today. Nicky has been teaching English in Spain and is gearing up for a move across the globe to continue that work in Buenos Aires. Ian is acting at the Orange Park Community Theatre, where he is about to take the stage in the upcoming production of Dear Evan Hansen in August.
