We’re so excited to welcome our K–2 families into our classroom for a special Open House! 💛

🌟 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT! 🌟

We are SO proud of the hard work this sweet student has been putting into learning to read! 📚💛

In these videos, you can see her working through an important early reading skill—sounding out the beginning sound, blending it with the ending, and then putting the whole word together. 👏

Learning to read doesn’t happen overnight. It happens one sound, one word, and one little victory at a time. And all of those victories add up! 🎉

She has been working incredibly hard, and her hard work is paying off! Watching her confidence and reading skills grow is exactly why we do what we do.

At Chapman Education Services, our goal is to meet kids where they are and help them move forward from there. 💙

📚✨ NEW VIRTUAL NOVEL STUDIES! ✨📚

Looking for a way to keep your student reading, thinking, and connecting with others? We’re excited to offer two virtual novel studies this fall!

These 6-week classes meet twice a week for a total of 12 live virtual sessions. Students won’t just read the book—they’ll discuss characters, explore important themes, make connections, and build stronger reading comprehension skills along the way. 💻📖

🌿 Elementary & Middle School Novel Study — Grades 3–6
📖 The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate
📅 Tuesdays & Thursdays
⏰ 2:00–3:00 PM EST
🗓 Begins September 9th

🔥 Young Adult & Teen Novel Study
📖 The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
📅 Mondays & Wednesdays
⏰ 2:00–3:00 PM EST
🗓 Begins September 8th

💲 $150 for all 12 sessions / 6 weeks

🌎 100% Virtual via Google Meet — which means students can join us from anywhere!

Students will need a copy of their novel, a reliable device with internet access, and a notebook and pencil.

We love novel studies because reading becomes so much more meaningful when students have a group to talk, question, analyze, and share ideas with! ❤️📚

🎉 NEW FRIDAY CLUBS ARE HERE! 🎉

We are so excited to add some new opportunities for students at Chapman Education Services! Beginning September 4th, Fridays are getting a whole lot more creative, hands-on, and FUN! 🧪📸🧁💻

✨ Junior Explorers (Grades K–3)
Get messy with chemistry, tackle building challenges, and explore the world of coding with ScratchJr!

🔬 Future Scientists (Grades 4+)
Put those problem-solving skills to work with structural engineering, physics challenges, and game design using Scratch!

📸 Photo Lab (Grades 5–12)
Students will learn photography and editing skills while creating their very own custom photo book to take home!

🧁 Whisk Takers (Grades K–5)
Time to get baking! Students will create delicious goodies AND build their own recipe book filled with pictures of their creations. An apron and all baking supplies are included!

Each club runs for 8 weeks, and space will be limited so that students can get plenty of hands-on time and individualized support.

📅 Clubs begin Friday, September 4th!

🌬️🗺️ Hands-on learning with our middle schoolers!

Our middle school students have been busy putting their learning into action in both Science and Social Studies!

🌬️ In Science, students built their own anemometers and took them outside to test the wind speed and direction. There’s nothing quite like getting out of the classroom and actually testing the concepts you’re learning!

🗺️ In Social Studies, students used Play-Doh to create contour maps, then color-coded their models to represent different elevations. This gave them a hands-on way to see how a three-dimensional landscape can be represented on a two-dimensional map.

Science, geography, creativity, and a little bit of Play-Doh — sounds like a pretty great school day to us! ❤️

🌊 Our high schoolers are diving into Marine Science! 🐠

This week, students have been working on creating their own models of the ocean floor, bringing features like the continental shelf, trenches, ridges, and other underwater landforms to life.

Partway through the project, they asked, “Can we paint them?” 🎨

Of course, my answer was YES! ❤️

I love when a lesson grows based on our students’ ideas. A little paint, creativity, and mess can turn a science project into something they’re truly excited about and proud to create.
