🌮 Summer Camp Recipe of the Week: Fabuloso Avocado Street Tacos! 🌮

Let’s taco ’bout this week’s delicious adventure straight from our Farm to Table Summer Camp! Our young chefs are learning just how tasty fresh ingredients can be — and these Fabuloso Avocado Street Tacos are the perfect bite of summer.

Street tacos are a Mexican classic: soft, warm corn tortillas filled with flavorful veggies or meat and topped with bright, zesty goodness like onions, cilantro, and salsa. Unlike the hard shells you see at fast-food chains, these stay true to tradition — simple, fresh, and totally satisfying.

At camp this week, our chefs will bread and fry creamy avocado slices, toss up a crunchy Mexican Slaw, and drizzle it all with homemade Cilantro Crema. Pro tip: they make the slaw first and let the flavors mingle while your avocado gets crispy and golden!

One bite and you’ll taste why they’re called Fabuloso! It’s Farm to Table fun, wrapped up in a warm tortilla and shared with friends.

All summer we're highlighting our scrumptious summer camp recipes!

🥞🔬🍳✨ In this week’s recipe Cooking + Science = a match made in the kitchen! ✨🔬🍳🥞

In our S.T.E.A.M. Cooking Camp, we’re whipping up tasty experiments that connect Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math — all while keeping boredom off the menu and multiplying the fun!

One of our favorite recipes? Kitschy Kitchen Sink Pancakes! Think breakfast for dinner but with a twist — these flapjacks are an edible science lab where our young chefs get to toss in whatever ingredients spark their curiosity. Pretzels? Sure. Chocolate chips? Why not. Grated sweet potato? Go for it!

Just like every culture has its own take on pancakes — from French crêpes to Korean pajeon — our kid chefs get to invent their own version, experiment with flavors, and discover what delicious surprises come from a good old culinary “what if…?”

Our Sticky Fingers Cooking Chef Instructors are having so much fun at our summer camps!

These two superstar Chefs just ran one of our one-day camps and cooked up a tasty recipe with three different groups of kids over the course of a day!

The recipe was a big hit: 🥑 Mexican Enchilada Cups + Kid-Made Black Beans + Sweet Garden Pea Guacamole 🌽

From our Baking Boot Camp: Luscious Lemon Tart Cups + Softly Shaken Cream + Raspberry Drizzle + Lemon Raspberry Fizz 🍋

Ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the world of baking? In our Baking Boot Camp summer camps, young chefs will turn flour into fun and every treat is a recipe for confidence.

Fun Food Story
Tarts originated in France, and our lemon tart recipe would be called "tarte au citron" in France. Fruit curds, like the lemon curd in our tart, were first made in 19th-century England and were served with scones, breads, and as fillings for pastries and cakes, similar to jam. Lemon tarts became popular in France in the same century. Fruit tarts are one of the most popular desserts sold in French patisseries (stores that sell pastries), and they may be filled with lemon, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, apples, or sometimes multiple fruits! C'est magnifique!
