crittenton center mentors from 9/24! what an eye-opening experience it is to see what it looks to live in a homeless shelter as a child. ‼️this trip ended with one of our trip-goers applying to work as staff at the critt! GOD IS SO GOOD

Today’s the day...we celebrate moms. We have been trying to prepare our kids for this really hard day for the last few days…it’s a difficult time where we see BIG behaviors…

You see our kiddos have a difficult time expressing what happened to them…they wonder why they can’t be with their mom…they spend time worrying a lot about their moms…wondering what happened…

Sometimes their last memories or what they know is…

their moms are deceased.

their moms are in prison or jail.

their moms are homeless and/or abusing drugs and alcohol.

their moms have depression or other mental illnesses.

their moms are living in abusive relationships.

their moms are lost in this world and no one knows where they went or what happened to them…

They long to know more…to have a different last memory…

For all the unknowns the one thing that is certain is that our kiddos LOVE THEIR MOMMAS and MISS THEM A LOT regardless of what happened or where their moms are…

So today and everyday we give grace. We give patience. We give understanding as our kids grieve HARD on this day and so many other days each week, month, and year that go by without their moms.

We would ask that you please send your thoughts and prayers to these special and wonderful children today and everyday. Their walk on this earth is harder than what most adults experience in an entire lifetime😢

So now go love your moms with all your ❤️ our kids do…

Kara Richard & Val Stokes hit it out of the park tonight w/ a conversation and presentation about child abuse reporting! ❤️🥹 Our biggest take away as educators is that we do NOT need hard evidence to report abuse/neglect but reasonable suspicion is enough to make a call!
