With the new school year just weeks away, a recent executive order is raising questions for parents across New York City.

Earlier this week, an executive order was signed calling for the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine to be split into three separate shots, replacing the current combined injection. Moderna and Merck shares soared this week after their personalized mRNA cancer treatment hit its target in a late-stage clinical trial — successfully preventing high-risk melanoma from recurring or spreading. Moderna's stock jumped 177% in a single day, while Merck rose 12.6%.

The therapy, tested alongside Merck's Keytruda in over 1,100 patients, could launch commercially as early as next year — and researchers say it could eventually be adapted for kidney, bladder, and pancreatic cancers too.
