The Summer Reading Program will be a little different this year; please follow the instructions on the flyer below. Registration is from June 8-19, 2026. The last day to send in your book list is July 16, 2026. Since all of our books are packed up, you can list any books that you have at home, or from another library. Certificates will be handed out on July 21, 2026 at the Opelousas Museum & Interpretive Center.

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Mr. Ulysse Joubert, a beloved educator, mentor, and leader who faithfully served as Principal of Park Vista Elementary School for 35 years.
For more than three decades, Mr. Joubert dedicated his life to the students, staff, and families of Park Vista. His unwavering commitment to education, strong leadership, and genuine care for others helped shape generations of students and left a lasting impact on our community. To many, he was not only a principal, but a role model, encourager, and friend.
The legacy he leaves behind can be seen in the countless lives he touched, the educators he inspired, and the traditions of excellence he helped establish. His influence will forever remain a part of Park Vista Elementary School.
As we remember and honor Mr. Joubertโs remarkable life and service, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, former colleagues, students, and all who were blessed to know him.

๐We are looking for the owner of a graduation ring that was found on Bus 631.
We know how much these mementos mean, and weโd love to get it back to its rightful owner! If this ring is yours, please call the transportation office at 337-594-5080. To ensure it goes to the correct person, the owner will need to identify the initials engraved inside the band and provide additional identifiable details about the ring. Important St. Landry Parish School Board District-Wide Closure Notice
Please be advised that all St. Landry Parish School Board schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 26th, and Tuesday, January 27th, due to forecasted winter weather conditions. This decision was reached after consulting with the National Weather Service and the Office of Emergency Preparedness.
The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. All after-school activities, practices, and school or district-related events scheduled for these days are also canceled.
We encourage everyone to stay indoors, keep warm, and stay safe for the duration of this winter weather event. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates regarding Wednesdayโs schedule through our standard communication channels.
