Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts

Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts St. Landry Parish opened The Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts in 2005. The school bridges creativity and core curriculum subjects. Enrollment is open to all St.

Along with all core subjects (math, English, social studies, and science), the school provides instruction in six talent areas--creative writing, dance, instrumental music, theatre, visual arts, and vocal music. Each year, MACA hopefuls audition to gain entry to the school. Although students spend an hour a day in their talent areas, they do not miss out on required subjects. In fact, they excel-M

Join us as we gather to honor and remember on the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001.
The St. Landry Parish Government and the St. Landry Parish Veterans Memorial invite the public to attend our September 11th Commemoration Ceremony. Together, we will pay tribute to the 2,977 victims lost, the 441 first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, and all the families whose lives were forever changed.

โฐ Time: 8:30 A.M.
๐Ÿ“ Location: St. Landry Parish Courthouse
โš ๏ธ IMPORTANT PARKING & TRAFFIC NOTICE: To ensure safety and honor our local emergency personnel, parking spaces in front of the St. Landry Parish Courthouse will be strictly RESERVED for First Responders (Sheriff, Police, Marshal Units, Fire Trucks, and Ambulances).
Additionally, the Courthouse Square will be BLOCKED from the corner of West Landry Street to Bellevue Street for the duration of the ceremony.
We encourage our entire community to attend as we stand together to remember and honor those who serve.

Our LifeShare Blood Drive is happening Thursday, September 3, and weโ€™re encouraging our students, parents, and families to come out and support this important cause!

Students who donate may have the opportunity to earn an Honor Card for graduation and possibly qualify to win a scholarship! ๐ŸŽ“

Parents and family members can also donate on behalf of a MACA student so their donation can count toward the studentโ€™s opportunities.

๐ŸšŒ The LifeShare bus will be parked at MACA.
