Itโs Market Day!
Come hang out with us at the O Grows Farmers Market today from 3โ6 PM at Courthouse Square! Shop local, grab something delicious, and stock up on fresh produce.
And a reminder: we accept SNAP/EBT! Even better, we participate in Double Up Food Bucks, which matches your SNAP withdrawal up to $40 to spend on fresh fruits and veggies at the market. ๐ฅฆ๐๐
That means $40 in SNAP can give you $80 to shop with, including $40 specifically for fresh produce. ๐
Come see us this afternoon and make those grocery dollars go a little further!

Only TWO summer markets left!
Come stock up on the good stuff, support your local growers and makers, and help us finish out the summer season strong!
And as our goat, Cheese, would like to point out... our farm-fresh veggies and eggs are currently enjoying their recall-free era.

What can you plant in the garden in August? More than you might think!
As summer crops begin to wind down, it is time to start preparing for fall gardening. Beans, broccoli, cabbage, collards, kale, lettuce, radishes, turnips, and other vegetables can still be planted, depending on your location in Alabama. Your lawn and landscape also need attention this month, especially when it comes to watering and monitoring for insects and diseases.

Post-Market Funnies
Running a farmers market is a very serious and professional business.
Except when your vendors ask about their b***y fees ๐ or accidentally announce that theyโre selling men named Brad. ๐
At this point, typos may be one of my favorite parts of the job.
So now I need to know: What is the WORST (or best) typo youโve ever made in a work/business text, email, or social media post?
Bonus points if you didnโt notice until AFTER you hit send. ๐
Drop yours in the comments so we can all feel better about ourselves. ๐๐

Just your friendly reminder that it is, in fact, TUESDAY!
Which means you have very important plans this afternoon. ๐
Come wander the market, grab some local goodies, say hey to your favorite vendors, and leave with at least one thing you definitely didnโt know you needed.

๐ Smile, youโre on camera!
Thanks to over $500 in donations from our amazing community, our new security cameras are officially up and running!
We hate that vandalism made them necessary, but weโre incredibly grateful for everyone who chipped in to help us better protect the garden and all the work that happens here.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. ๐
And to any future garden troublemakersโฆ the tomatoes have eyes now. ๐
๐
Special thank you's go out to O Town, Jamie Spencer, Cassidy Sims, Elizabeth Holder, Christine Litas, Dorette Kerr, Mallorie Lewis, Laura Rider, Jerri Sumrall, Elizabeth Millette, Janet Garibey, Denise Stoeckal, and Charity Hodge.

The O Grows Farmers Market is tomorrow from 3โ6 PM at Courthouse Square in downtown Opelika!
Come stock up on fresh local produce, baked goods, handmade items, and all the other great things our vendors have to offer.
While you're there, be sure to stop by the O Grows table! We'll have a selection of plants available for donation. Take home something green while helping support our community garden. Every donation helps us keep growing. ๐ฑ
We'll see you tomorrow!

Just a little garden update... ๐ฑ
We've officially donated 1,535 pounds of fresh produce so far this season!
Every tomato, cucumber, squash, eggplant, and pepper has made its way from our garden to neighbors in our community who need it most. That's only possible because of our volunteers, community gardeners, supporters, and everyone who cheers O Grows on.
We're pretty proud of that number... but we're definitely not done yet. Here's to filling a whole lot more harvest bins before the season is over! ๐ฅ๐
๐ฅ
Thank you, Opelika, for helping us grow something bigger than a garden. And thank you Community Market for getting our food to the community!
