🍂 Fall Break + Remote Learning Day Reminder:

🍁 Fall Break is next Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 12-13. We hope your family has an enjoyable and relaxing break!

✏️ Wednesday, Oct. 14, will be a remote learning day for all Opelika City Schools students ⤵

📚 Grades K-6: All students will receive an assignment from their teachers on Friday, Oct. 9. This should be completed on Wednesday, Oct. 14, and returned to school Thursday, Oct. 15.

💻 Grades 7-12: Assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. Students should check their Google Classroom on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

All students will return to school Thursday, Oct. 15.

Your presence, encouragement, and involvement mean so much to our students and to our school.

Our first graders had a wonderful time attending the Health Expo at Southern Union! 🩺✨ the students enjoyed hands-on activities designed to make learning about healthy habits fun, engaging, and easy to understand. From learning about germs and good hygiene to exploring ways to keep their bodies healthy, there was so much to see and do!

We are so thankful for opportunities like this that allow our students to learn beyond the classroom while building healthy habits they can use every day. ❤️🖤🐾

🐾♥️ Bulldog Buddies is officially underway! ♥️🐾

Today, Mrs. Jacob and Ms. Spruill got to spend some time with our Bulldog Buddies for orientation, and we had such a great time getting this group started!

Bulldog Buddies is a new reverse inclusion pilot program designed to bring students together to build friendships and help create a school community where every Bulldog feels included and valued. Our Bulldog Buddies were nominated by their teachers to take part in the program, and we are so excited to have such a wonderful group of students joining us this year.

During orientation, we talked about how everyone communicates, plays, and interacts in different ways and what it looks like to be a kind and supportive friend.

Our buddies learned about things like giving friends time to respond, respecting AAC and other ways of communicating, understanding stimming and breaks, asking before helping, and making sure everyone gets the chance to participate in their own way.

We are so excited to watch these friendships grow throughout the year and cannot wait to see our Bulldog Buddies in action!

Ms Gulley‘s kindergarten class celebrated a week of learning about the letter Tt with a Teddy Bear Tea Party! Students identified words that began with /t/, read and spelled words with /t/, and wrote about their favorite TREATS. To wrap it all up, they celebrated with tea, tangerines, Teddy cookies and toast! 🫖🐻

Our first graders had a blast at their very first Pizza Pals get-together! 🍕❤️ There were lots of smiles, laughter, and good conversation as our students enjoyed a special lunch with their Pals.

We are so thankful to be part of such a caring and supportive community! ❤️🖤

Our students are always excited to see others giving back, serving, and finding ways to make a difference—and today was a great example of that community spirit in action.

A big thank-you to the Opelika High School Volleyball Team for spending part of their morning at Southview and helping welcome our students by opening doors as they arrived! 🏐🐾

We love seeing our older students set such a wonderful example of kindness, leadership, and service for our younger students. Those little moments of connection mean so much and help make our community such a special place to call home!
