Meet Dean North! Dr. Linda North is currently the Dean of Academics for Southern Union. Dr. North serves as a SACSCOC and ACEN committee chair. During her time at Southern Union, she developed and implemented concurrent enrollment partnerships with four-year institutions.

Dr. North received a Bachelor’s in Nursing from Troy University, a Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, an Educational Specialist Degree from Troy University in Montgomery and her Ph.D. in Administration of Higher Education from the University of Alabama.

The Academic Division is the largest division
with a little over 3700 students for Fall 2022, 7 different degree programs, and over 50 full-time faculty.
We offer Associate in Science (A.S.) and Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees. Students may also earn short-term certificates in some curriculum areas.
