On August 1st, Aviation Influence took part in the PGV Airport's fly-in event. We offered discovery flights, exposure, and support for youth and future aviators looking to explore the industry and STEAM education, in a hands on setting. Check out some of what we did with these young aviators!

What a fun day at Dare County Airport celebrating National Aviation Day and Orville Wright’s birthday with the First Flight Society! ✈️

It was a pleasure to spend the day connecting with families, sharing our passion for aviation, and continuing to inspire the next generation. Days like today are exactly why we do what we do through Aviation Influence and our programs…creating meaningful opportunities to introduce young people to aviation, STEM, and the incredible careers and possibilities within our industry.

Aviation is more than airplanes. It’s about people, inspiration, opportunity, and opening the door for the next generation to dream big and take flight. 💙✈️

🇺🇸 National Aviation Day — August 19
Ryan and Lyndse will bring Lady Liberty to Dare County Airport near Kitty Hawk for National Aviation Day celebrations and exposition.

👩‍✈️ WAI Girls in Aviation Day — September 19
We’ll be bringing Lady Liberty to Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro for the Legacy of Flight / Women in Aviation International Girls in Aviation Day event. Lyndse will also be speaking on a panel during the celebration!

🚀 Take FLIGHT with AVi — September 26
Then it’s time for our BIG event! Join us at Signature Aviation Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) for Take FLIGHT with AVi — a day dedicated to inspiring the next generation through aviation, STEM, and hands-on experiences.

Tomorrow, I Hart Flying Foundation will open its second 2026 scholarship cycle, offering nearly $30,000 in flight training scholarships and in-kind industry support to women pursuing the next milestone in their aviation careers.

“Full Throttle: No Ceiling in Sight” opens for applications Tuesday, August 11, and will support women pursuing everything from Private Pilot and Instrument ratings to Commercial, Multi-Engine, CFI, ATP and other professional aviation pathways. Applications remain open through September 1, 2026.

With more than $400,000 awarded in scholarships and flight training support to 47 women, IHFF is building on that momentum while helping address the financial barriers that can prevent women from completing their aviation training and entering the professional workforce.

Sheltair and Avfuel desire to re-invest in the aviation community by providing meaningful financial support to aviators pursuing a greater commitment to business aviation. In supporting career advancement opportunities, Sheltair and Avfuel are giving back to the marketplace that has allowed them to thrive as collaborative partners for close to 10 years.
The Sheltair and Avfuel: Future Takes Flight Scholarships will provide $30,000 in educational funds annually. Each year, the program will award six $5,000 scholarships across three categories: two for learning to fly or advanced pilot ratings; two for aviation technicians; and two for continuing education. By splitting the scholarship funds across three key categories, Sheltair and Avfuel seek to support advancement throughout a broad scope of educational opportunities within business aviation.

Deadline: 11:59 p.m. EDT on August 31, 2026

We are excited to partner with Pitt-Greenville Airport and the PGV Airport's fly-in event tomorrow, August 1st! This program offers discovery flights, exposure, and support for youth and future aviators looking to explore the industry and STEAM education. We’re very excited to fly Lady Liberty out for this event and perform youth flights with her, and create a gateway for the youth into this industry.
