"It could have been so much worse" was said over and over again this am. At 4:30 am the crew from Jos. Schmitt called to say we had a problem. It was water and a lot of it! We recognize that it could have been a tornado, or a fire, or sewer water but it wasn't. It was just rain. Our affected teachers started to work at moving things out of their classrooms and going through the items that were ruined. The Wieskamp brothers started to remove the bookcases that had two weeks ago been installed. And the rest of the students and staff went to work not missing a beat in their school week.
Parents brought us coffee and donuts and offered to help. Greg Ingelse, from SCS, was one of the first onsite and started up the Zamboni.
Thanks to everyone who prayed for this school this am. As things dry out and issues are assessed, we praise God that it wasn't more of a disaster!
