The fastest draw in the room doesn't always win the gunfight. Here's the cycle we train to at Aegis Authority.
Step 1: Threat Assessment
Before your hand moves, your eyes and mind are working. You're reading the environment-distance, positioning, intent, escape routes, bystanders. The shooter who sees the threat first has already won half the battle. Most people skip this entirely and jump straight to speed. We don't.
Step 2: Adaptive Decision
Not every threat requires the same response. Sometimes it's de-escalation. Sometimes it's repositioning. Sometimes it's drawing. The decision you make in those milliseconds-before you ever touch your trigger-determines whether you survive and defend responsibly. Speed means nothing if you're making the wrong choice.
Step 3: Tactical Positioning
Once you've decided to act, movement matters more than marksmanship. Getting to cover, creating distance, controlling the angle-these are the skills that keep you alive. We train you to move with purpose, not panic.
Step 4: Controlled Ex*****on
Only now does trigger speed and accuracy matter. But by this point, you've already won the fight mentally and tactically. Your mechanical skill is the final piece, not the first.
This is warrior ethos training. This is why we've trained over 25,000 new fi****ms owners across California. We teach you to think, decide, and position before you ever pull the trigger.
