Itā€™s Performathon time! Letā€™s support the arts in our community!

The Claremont Community School of Music has not only been my workplace for the last 9 years, but it has been the place where I have been able to share my passion for music, and deepen my understanding and skill as a teacher. The value the school adds to the community is immeasurable.

Another audition under my belt. This time I had my partner in crime with me šŸ˜Ž

Itā€™s always a learning experience. This time I felt I got a little better at using my nerves in a positive way instead of letting them hinder my performance. It mostly went pretty well, but unfortunately I misread the measure markings for one of the excerpts and didnā€™t prepare the last four bars šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø Stupid mistake, but lesson learned: always print out the packet they send you, instead of using your own music. Or even better, learn the entire movement the excerpt comes from.

Audition number two coming up next weekā€¦ it seems I have a long way to go in improving my mindset. I donā€™t typically get nervous for concerts, but at an audition Iā€™m a total wreck to the point that it affects my playing. Any other ideas you would add to this?
