Tomorrow it’s out to LA to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D Minor with Dr. Jenny Soonjin Kim.

The Claremont Community School of Music has not only been my workplace for the last 9 years, but it has been the place where I have been able to share my passion for music, and deepen my understanding and skill as a teacher. The value the school adds to the community is immeasurable.

Another audition under my belt. This time I had my partner in crime with me 😎

It’s always a learning experience. This time I felt I got a little better at using my nerves in a positive way instead of letting them hinder my performance. It mostly went pretty well, but unfortunately I misread the measure markings for one of the excerpts and didn’t prepare the last four bars 🤦‍♀️ Stupid mistake, but lesson learned: always print out the packet they send you, instead of using your own music. Or even better, learn the entire movement the excerpt comes from.
