My name is Grace, I am a Cum Laude Graduate of Brigham Young University-Hawaii (and if you are wondering, yes, I did love going to school in Hawaii!). My field of study while at BYUH was International Cultural Studies with a Primary Emphasis in Peace Building and a Secondary Emphasis in Cultural Anthropology. My repertoire of knowledge ranges from Spanish (in which I am fluent), Political Science,
Business Management, Mediation, Latin American History Intercultural Communications to Anthropology Theory and much more. At the end of my University studies I interned at a Mediation firm in San Diego where I had to develop University course curriculum as well as online classes for international training conferences. I have a passion for learning and I love helping others learn at their own speed and ability. Along with my academic pursuits I have a passion for serving others, especially people with developmental disabilities. I have a big space in my heart for those special people because I grew up with a younger brother that has autism. I have spent over seven years devoting time to one on one tutoring in the classroom and coaching swimming in the Special Olympics. I am a people person and always strive to have a good relationship with all of the students that I tutor as well as their families. I understand that sometimes life happens so I ask for at least 5 hours notice to cancel a session, but I am open to rescheduling. My goal is to be more than a tutor, I want to be a friend in learning. I believe that when a student feels comfortable and happy, their learning potential skyrockets and that is what I am committed to giving to each of my students and their families.
