Eight Ontario MIddle School FCCLA members participated at the Regional CDE (Career Development Events) Competition on Saturday, March 5th. These students have been working hard completing their projects and practicing for the day. Each event was presented in front of 3 judges and scored against FCCLA rubrics. Here are their results, including who participated, which event they completed, and what medal they earned:
Kennedy Sapp competed in Sports Nutrition- Silver
Cheyanne Barden, Camryn Hanning, and Kadynce Smithberger competed in Entrepreneurship- Bronze
Khya Ginn competed in Teach and Train- Bronze
Amelia McCoy and Roselyn Vanover competed in Food Innovations- Silver
Lilly Ladner competed in Career Investigation- Bronze
The students professionally represented Ontario and our FCCLA chapter and we are incredibly proud of them. In mid-March, they will find out if any will earn the opportunity to compete at the State Leadership Conference in Columbus on April 28th & 29th.

On Nov. 3rd, our FCCLA chapter went to the Pioneer District Leadership Conference. Ontario Middle School had two district officers, Bradley Swain and Blakleigh Yoxtheimer, assist on stage and we had 33 members in attendance. In the first main session, we learned about many things. We talked about goals to help our community. We had a speaker talk about how he and his business helps people in our area. After the main session, we had workshops where we learned other subjects, such as: self defense, stir fry, fall cooking, career planning, and community service. We had a great time and learned a lot on this field trip.

Our chapter had 6 students compete at the Regional FCCLA Virtual Competition. All 3 events earned Silver medals and made it to the state competition. We are now awaiting results in late April from the state level. Way to go girls!! Professional Presentation- Alaina Friend and Jordyn Yeager; Repurpose and Redesign- Brooke Cushing, Kiarrah Kearney, and Lilee Shifflet; Entrepreneurship- Sophia Sandwall
