OHS Staff Spotlight of the week!

Our class of 2026 and Middle School Student Council team have been working hard to make Thanksgiving dinner easier on you this year! If you placed a pie order this past week, you may pick up your take & bake goodies from 1:00 - 3:00 PM TODAY (11/18) in the audeteria.

We are excited to have Mrs. Thompson with us at Onsted this year!

Mrs. Howland’s Spanish II students worked together this week to create their own Dia de los Mu***os altars. Loved ones celebrated included grandparents, pets, and celebrities like Selena, Jimmy Buffet and Matthew Perry. Thank you students, for working so hard to put on a proper celebration for those who have gone before us!

Advanced Placement Language and Composition students put their skills to work today! They analyzed a speech looking for Rhetorical Devices and discussed how those choices affect an audience. Great job by all of our AP students!!

High school conferences will take place tomorrow from 12:00pm-3:00pm and 4:00pm-7:00pm. Please use the front entrance of the high school and follow signs to teachers classrooms!

Good afternoon- This is Steve Head, Superintendent of Onsted Community Schools with an important message.

A water main has broken outside of the school with the road construction and we are not going to be able to use our restrooms this afternoon as a result of no pressure. As a result, we will be dismissing school for the rest of the day at 1 pm.

Parents are welcome to come to the school and pick up their students, but elementary students will need to be picked up behind the school as the break took place outside the front of the elementary or they can ride our buses home as our drivers are being brought in to transport students.

Elementary students without transportation home need to be picked up as soon as possible, but in the meantime, we will supervise students in the cafeteria until their ride is available to pick them up.

We are so sorry for the inconvenience this will cause, but the safety of our students is our top priority. Thank you.
