DON'T BE ALARMED!
🚨 Training Notice 🚨
Today, members of the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) at Nandua Middle School.
During the training, you will notice a large law enforcement presence at the school, including officers from several neighboring jurisdictions. You may also see officers outside the building carrying simunition training fi****ms, which are specialized training tools designed to provide realistic, hands-on scenarios in a safe training environment.
There is no emergency, and there is no need for alarm. This is a planned training exercise.
ALERRT is nationally recognized as the gold standard for active attack response training. It provides law enforcement officers with realistic, scenario-based instruction that enhances teamwork, communication, decision-making, and response tactics during critical incidents. By training alongside officers from other agencies, deputies strengthen their ability to work together seamlessly if they are ever called upon to respond to a real emergency.
The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office is committed to providing our deputies with the highest quality training available. While we hope these skills are never needed, preparing for the worst helps ensure we are ready to protect our schools, students, staff, and community when it matters most.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to train for the safety of Accomack County.
