At the end of July, our 2026-2027 Officer Team gathered for our Leadership Training where we worked on team development, this year’s program of activities, and team bonding.

Several of our FFA Members have been staying busy this summer! Yesterday, Cheyenne and Cash Fuller showed their sheep at the Prairie Winds 4-H Achievement Days in Fort Pierre. Congratulations to both of them on a great day of showing!

• 2026 South Dakota FFA West River Leadership Retreat •

At beginning of the month, Anna & Mrs. Todd attended West River Camp in the Beautiful Black Hills. This year’s camp theme was: We The Leaders! Red, White & Blue Jackets! Here is Anna’s reflection on her time at camp:

“This July, I had the opportunity to attend the West River FFA Leadership Camp as the Sully Buttes FFA Chapter Reporter. The camp was an unforgettable experience where I built friendships, developed leadership skills, and gained confidence. Through fun team-building activities like Games on the Green, inspiring leadership sessions with State FFA Officers and National Vice President Joey, and the memorable lighting ceremony at Mount Rushmore, I learned that leadership is about communication, teamwork, and serving others. I also met FFA members from across South Dakota, shared ideas for improving FFA, and stepped outside my comfort zone. I returned home motivated to become a stronger leader and to use the skills I learned to make a positive impact in my chapter and community” - Anna Collins
