CANO is proud to enrich our community through accessible and meaningful arts experiences. We’re also honored to steward the historic Wilber Mansion in downtown Oneonta.

Built in 1875, the Wilber Mansion has been home to CANO’s workshops, performances, exhibitions, and creative events since 1999. Now, we’re embarking on new efforts to preserve this beloved landmark for generations to come.

CANO is excited to welcome Colleen Jenkins to the Summer Arts Program for Kids next week! It is the first time that Colleen has taught at CANO Art Studio and we are excited for her weeklong class, Creature Art.

While we currently do not have any openings in the morning or afternoon program for kids next week, we do have an opening in the kids' afternoon workshop in Week 8: August 17-21. Email [email protected] if interested.

We are excited to welcome Cheryl Clarke as a new instructor of CANO's Summer Arts Program for Teens! Cheryl is the author of several collections of poetry and co-founder of the Hobart Festival of Women Writers. Cheryl is teaching Poetry as Key to Creative Writing, a workshop that asks students to explore the writing of poems- through line, stanza, rhythm, and rhyme.

Join artists Sara Christoff, Megan Joubert & Joanne Lentner for DIY & Folk Week of the Summer Arts Program for Teens ages 12-17 years July 6-10, 2-4pm! A series of Folk & DIY inspired workshops such as jewelry making, psanky painting, zine creation, collage, candle making, junk journaling and more.

We are thrilled to have Alice Lichtenstein teach at CANO Summer Arts Program for Teens this summer! Alice is teaching a creative fiction workshop for ages 12-17 titled Fairytales Remixed and Reimagined June 30-July 2, 11am-1pm. There is only ONE space left.

About Alice, "I am a literary novelist and short story writer. My novels include: “The Genius of the World”(Zoland Books) ; “Lost” (Simon & Schuster); “The Crime of Being” (Upperhand Press). “The Crime of Being” was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in Fiction.I teach fiction writing at Hartwick College. I live in Oneonta, New York and Surry, Maine. I have a dog and a horse!"
