We are thrilled to have Alice Lichtenstein teach at CANO Summer Arts Program for Teens this summer! Alice is teaching a creative fiction workshop for ages 12-17 titled Fairytales Remixed and Reimagined June 30-July 2, 11am-1pm. There is only ONE space left.
About Alice, "I am a literary novelist and short story writer. My novels include: “The Genius of the World”(Zoland Books) ; “Lost” (Simon & Schuster); “The Crime of Being” (Upperhand Press). “The Crime of Being” was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in Fiction.I teach fiction writing at Hartwick College. I live in Oneonta, New York and Surry, Maine. I have a dog and a horse!"

Rock n' Roll Studio with Mark Pawkett from Mopar Cams at CANO Art Studio: June 29-July 3, 1-4pm with 7/3 concert at 5pm
Students will study and perform popular songs from a variety of rock/pop genres. Learn how to wrote and read “lead sheets” and be a member of a performing ensemble that performs at the end of the week.
Teen should bring their own guitars/bass/cables. Keyboards, drums, amps, PA, mics will be provided on request. All levels accepted with the criteria that they can play their instrument at a basic level (be able to get through simple songs without stopping).Singers, guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboardists, horns, strings all welcome.

Scholarship opportunities are available for CANO Youth Summer Arts Program! The kids workshops run Monday-Friday, with themed workshops 9am-1pm and multi-arts workshops in the afternoons 1-4pm. Choose 1 or both each week. This year we are offering 13 teens workshops, such as Rock n' Roll Studio, Intro to Printmaking, Re-fashion to Runway and more.

CANO Art Studio is excited to welcome Afsana Khundkar to the Summer Arts Program! Afsana has her own ceramics studio in Hancock and has experience teaching sustainable fashion and pottery.
