Arethusa, also known as Sigma Gamma Phi, was founded at Oneonta in 1894. We are the oldest Greek Organization on SUNY Oneonta's campus.

The Founding Members of the Arethusean Society lived during a crucial time in the history of women's rights. The Suffrage Movement was growing in strength and in resistance.
