We are saddened to report that the last of the named gnomes, Albergnome, has been disappeared from his perch at the entrance to Science II. He had been mediating there since August 15. PLACES Institute management is aware of two copies of this gnome, one in a faculty office and another at a different professor’s home, but no replica—no mere simulacrum—can replace the glory of the original Albergnome. RIP

Almost a week since our PLACES Institute Research Fellows explored CNY. Once again, we had a great lunch at Zeina’s, explored Utica’s new harbor project, and took a stroll through a nearby gorge

The PLACES Institute led another tour around our region today, stopping in at Weaver’s Amish Market in Morris for some snacks on the way, a great (as always) lunch at Zeina’s Cafe in Utica, and ending the day with a walk along the canal at Littlw Falls. A day exploring central New York is always a good day!
