Congratulations to Logan Sweatman on certifying in 3G(Vertical Groove) GMAW-P (Gas Metal Arc Welding-Pulse Transfer) and 3G(Vertical Groove) FCAW-G (Flux scored Arc Welding-Gas). He is going for extra certs starting next week, including a 6G open root pipe test. 👨‍🏭

Students learn about electricity, polarities, transformers, rectifiers, etc throughout our program studies. They also learn about new and advanced inverter power source technology.
This is a brand new welder I purchased for my home shop use that myself and the students tested out this morning.
This welder is roughly 13”L, 4.5”W, and 8.5”H. It weighs 7.2 lbs, can be used with 110V or 220V plug, has a 200 Amp capacity with a 60% duty cycle, is capable of SMAW (stick welding) and GTAW (TIG welding), and cost less than $150. A welder with the same capacities would have cost well over a thousand dollars and would need a forklift to be moved only several years ago. To say the least, we were all pretty impressed at the performance of this very compact and portable welding machine. 👨‍🏭
