-Matthew Carton, business economics, 2024

What is your job position?

- I am an intramural employee

How long have you been working as an intramural student employee?

-I’ve been working as an intramural employee for 3 years. I began working my sophomore year

Can you describe what a typical shift is like?

-Typically, I arrive 15 minutes early to set up. I change into my referee clothing and then I gather groups of three to begin a game. When I am not a referee, I am a score keeper.

How did you find out about this position?

- One of my friends recommended that I should look into applying. I reached out to one of the staff members and began from there.

Has working here allowed you to build professional relationships that may help you in the future?

-Yes. I have been able to practice my communication skills while working along side other student employees. I believe that these connections can absolutely help me progress in the future.

Come join us in the Hunt Union Waterfront for SUNY Oneonta’s Spring into your Future: Career and Internship Fair. This three day event is from 1-4pm on Thursday March 28th, April 4th, and April 11th 2024. There will be employers, student led discussion groups, resume reviews, internship assistance and snacks! The session on March 28th is targeted for the School of Liberal Arts & Business. The April 4th session is targeted to Human Ecology Students. Finally the focus for April 11th is the School of Science. Come on down!
