It's almost time for school and we're so excited to welcome your little ones this coming week!
The first day always comes with some excitement, but also nerves for both the kiddos and their grown-ups. To help make the transition as smooth as possible, we want to share a few tips for the first couple of days:
🍎Park on Grove St. and enter through the red doors. Feel free to snap a pic next to our sign outside!
✏️Head down the stairs immediately to your right and go through the big white door.
🍎Once you're in our hallway, there will be a white table where we will greet you. Stop here and sign your child in.
✏️Look to the board on your left. Find your child's name and place it under the time at which you will be picking them up. We stagger these times to help with parking congestion.
🍎Now it's time to say "See ya later!" We encourage grown-ups to give a simple hug and a kiss, tell your kiddo you will be back soon, and then hand them over to one of the teachers. We will do the job of walking them down the hallway to hang up their backpacks and take them into the classroom.
✏️For some, there will be tears. It's okay. This is very typical. Please know you are placing your children into hands that hold many years of experience. We will love them through this transition and treat them as our own. The less we draw out this step of separation, the faster your kiddo will be back to their happy selves. We often have the tears stopped by the time we walk into the classroom and they see other kids playing. They will suddenly be interested to discover all the exciting things we have in store for them this year!
🍎For pick-up, simply park on Grove St. and wait on the sidewalk outside the red doors. We will bring your child out to you on the sidewalk. For safety and security, we will hand children off to their grown-ups one at a time. Big hugs and smiles from you let's your kiddo know this is a safe and happy routine that always ends with them being reunited with you!
