📚 A new chapter is beginning at Chesterton Academy of Omaha!

We are excited to invite our entire Chesterton community to the 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁. 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟰.

Thanks to the dedication of Mrs. Nicole Stransky and the generosity of many members of our community, the library has been transformed into a beautiful resource for continued learning and formation. At the reopening, we will recognize those who helped make the library possible, share what the library has to offer, and explain how members of the Chesterton community can access and enjoy its collection.

We will also share several new opportunities for continued formation, giving our families, friends, and supporters more ways to learn together and participate in the intellectual and spiritual life of Chesterton Academy.

One of the traditions that makes life at Chesterton Academy so special is our House System.

During the House Sorting Ceremony, every new student and teacher becomes a member of 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐞, 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐀𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐬, 𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐲𝐬𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦. The houses are named for the four great Doctors of the Church whose statues surround the Chair of St. Peter in St. Peter's Basilica.

More than a school tradition, each House becomes a 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲, building friendships across grade levels while encouraging leadership, service, and growth in virtue.

Throughout the year, Houses earn points through competitions, participation, service, and meritorious behavior as they compete for the White Horse Cup. It's joyful competition with a greater purpose: helping students encourage one another to grow in virtue and become more Christ-like.

Faith, friendship, tradition, and a shared pursuit of holiness—it's all part of what makes the Chesterton experience unique.

Back to school means returning to the beautiful rhythms that shape life at Chesterton Academy of Omaha—prayer, study, Socratic conversation, the Great Books, fine arts, friendship, and a shared pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.

As our students and families begin another year together, we pray that the routines of classical education will do more than fill schedules and classrooms. May they form habits of wisdom, virtue, wonder, and joyful discipleship that continue to grow throughout the year.

What does it mean to be truly great?

G.K. Chesterton reminds us that greatness is not found in making ourselves seem more important, accomplished, or impressive than those around us. It is found in recognizing the dignity and gifts of others—and helping them recognize those gifts in themselves.

That is the kind of leadership we seek to cultivate at Chesterton Academy of Omaha. Whether in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, or within our House communities, students are challenged to become men and women who encourage one another, lead with humility, and use their gifts in service of others.

True greatness doesn’t diminish the people around us. It calls them higher.

As part of this special morning, our faculty and 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡, publicly affirming their commitment to faithfully uphold and serve the teachings of the Church as they carry out the mission of Chesterton Academy.

📚Nicole's love for the classics, literature, and lifelong learning makes her a wonderful fit to help cultivate a library that reflects the mission of Chesterton Academy. From the Great Books that have shaped Western civilization to works that inspire faith, wonder, and virtue, our library will be a place where students—and our broader community—can continue to grow.
