We would like to give a HUGE thank you to Hon. Derek R. Vaughn, Associate Justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court, for taking the time to visit with our King Cubs! ππ½β¨
Our students loved hearing about his journey, learning about the court system, and being reminded that they can achieve ANYTHING they set their minds to, even becoming a judge someday themselves! π₯ΉβοΈπ

We are SO thankful for the leadership Mr. Mitchell brings to our school! So many of the students here at King flock to Mr. Mitchell and are always excited when he takes the time to share wisdom and life skills with them.
Here, he can be seen taking time to coach some of our fifth-grade students during their recess.
Thank you, Mr. Mitchell, for never being too busy to make an impact!π¨βπ«π»π

At King, EVERY Cub gets the chance to be a scientist!π©βπ¬π¨βπ¬π§²π§ͺ
Take a peek into Miss Brown's 5th-grade class to see what they've been cooking up in the lab!
"The fifth graders are learning about the scientific method and how to apply it in an activity. We did walking rainbows today, and the kids had to plan and carry out their experiment following the steps." -Miss Brown
Thank you, Miss Brown, for helping our Cubs flex their problem-solving and discovery skillsπ§ π

May Staff Highlights!
Miss Walker:
"Ms. Walker is a 4th-year music teacher in OPS. She is an Omaha native who graduated from Burke High School in 2014 and attended Omaha Public Schools throughout her K-12 years. When she isn't making music, Ms. Walker likes long walks outside, rock climbing in gyms, and cooking. Whether the food is made over a campfire or stove, she likes to eat. Ms. Walker's favorite moment of the 25-26 school year was directing the Lion King Kids at Kellom. She is looking forward to bringing a Disney Musical to King Elementary next year. Go Cubs!"
Miss Henderson:
"Hello! My name is Janae Henderson, and I love teaching Kindergarten at King Elementary! This is my 4th year teaching elementary education.
I have previously taught 3rd grade in Bellevue Public Schools. I received my Masterβs degree in Equity and Social Justice at UNO.
Outside of school, I have two adorable cats, Link and Mango!
I enjoy singing, reading, long walks, and spending time with my friends/family. A fun fact about me is that my family is from Trinidad and Tobago!
I am very fortunate to work with and serve many amazing people at King!"
Mr. Pryor:
"Good Morning! My name is Mr. Pryor, and I feel so fortunate to be your counselor at King!
Though this is my first year as a counselor, I have spent the last 8 years working with young people in various capacities, including youth ministry, behavioral health sciences, gang prevention, and more!
I am a proud Creighton Alumni and North Omaha resident. In fact, most mornings you can find me either running on the North Omaha Trail or working out at the Abide Campus. Outside of fitness and teaching, I love reading, caring for my plants, serving at church, and mentoring young people in my community!
It is SO great to meet you all and work with your learners!
