Alumni Spotlight: Mae Grahek!

After graduating from Creighton University in 2023, I continued my education there by pursuing a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS). Following my graduation from PA school in December 2025, I began practicing family medicine in rural Nebraska, where I am passionate about serving underserved communities through comprehensive, patient-centered care. In addition to family practice, I also incorporate NaProTechnology care to support patients seeking restorative and holistic approaches to women’s health.

When I encountered the Newman Center in college, I was welcomed into a thriving community of young adults who encouraged me to strive for virtue and holiness while navigating the world as a young adult. There, I experienced the deep joy that comes from living in an authentic community with others united by a common purpose and faith in Christ. That experience became the foundation of my life after graduation and continues to shape me as a Physician Assistant. It has helped me approach others, and the sufferings they carry with compassion, empathy, and a deep peace rooted in Christ. I continue to support the Newman Center in the hope that other young people will be inspired, as I was, to pursue lives of faith, virtue, and joyful service to others.

We had a beautiful day on Sunday for the dedication of the new Marian garden here at JPII Newman. Thank you to all who attended, particularly those who were being honored for their contributions to bringing this project to life!
