Meet Bonnie! Bonnie is the Nebraska State VFW Auxiliary Chaplain and has been organizing a monthly potato drive for our Omaha Veteran's Campus. She has worked with various Auxiliary posts throughout the state to deliver 100 pounds of potatoes per month to help feed our vets. During Military Appreciation Month, we want to thank Bonnie for organizing this statewide effort to serve our veterans experiencing homelessness. 🇺🇸

Just like our CB van, our Omaha Veteran's Campus van has a new look as well! Look for this vehicle on the streets of Omaha bringing our clients to and from appointments, picking up donations, and putting our mission in action! We're proud to serve US Veterans experiencing homelessness and grateful to be able to transport them around the community. ❤🤍💙

Yesterday we celebrated the completion of a month's-long project to re-carpet our entire Omaha Veteran's Campus. The Nebraska VFW worked with 26 other organizations including local VFW posts, Auxiliaries, businesses, and individuals to collect funds and supplies to re-carpet the entire facility, and our own Veteran guests at the facility provided the labor for the project.

The work took several months and was finally completed yesterday, when Chris Beaty, the Nebraska State VFW Commander and leader of the project, laid the final carpet square. This is one of our largest in-kind gifts ever and would have cost over $100,000 to pay for the project. The completion of this project comes at a meaningful time for all involved as May is Military Appreciation Month. Black Hills Energy has been sending groups of 3-4 volunteers to serve lunch at our Omaha Veteran's campus this month. We've loved having their help with serving our Vets! You can usually find Elliott Threatt performing his comedy routine in Kansas City, but yesterday, he performed a beautiful act of service for our Veterans experiencing homelessness at our New Visions Omaha Campus. Elliott is celebrating his birthday today, and instead of buying a meal for himself, he bought lunch for our Veterans. Thanks to Elliott and to our friends at Atlas Medical for serving lunch!🥰

We were honored this past weekend to be a part of this event to provide resources and food to the community in Omaha.
