🀄️ Bootcamp combines both lessons 1 and 2 in one day so that you are ready to play Mahjong. $120 per person.

☕️We will take a 10 minute break at the halfway point, and other short breaks will be offered.

⏱️The first 45 minutes of the session will involve learning the tiles, the NMJL card, and the basic rules. The rest of the day will be involved in playing and learning the nuanced rules and etiquette. If you need to leave early, it is fine. You will just miss another game with guided practice.

🀄️As a Mahjong instructor, I have all of the patience in the world. I teach ages 9 to 90, and I am thrilled to include everyone at the table.

🏆This is a friendly reminder that if you are holding up the game, you might want to keep up without worrying about where the tiles are taking you. The game is not always about winning Mahjong. Your wins come in various forms—finding a new fun hand, improving your game, and playing with new people.

🐌Don’t be the Slow Sally. If your name is constantly being called to draw, discard, or make a move—this is your clue to pick up the pace.

💃🏻Save your tapping for the dance floor! There is no tapping in Mahjong!

🀄️These are the 4 options to close out opportunities for your opponents to call the last discarded tile:

1. Racking your drawn tile quickly in the sloped part of your rack. Racking isn’t a rule, but it is best practice. Don’t be a tapper or tile clicker—those options do not count and are not NMJL standards.
2. Picking a tile from the wall and discarding it by either naming it or touching the tile to the table.
3. Picking a tile from the wall and verbally initiating a joker exchange.
4. Picking a tile and declaring Mahjong!
