🌿 Though our school year wrapped up last month, we are still thinking about the many wonderful moments we shared in the forest together.
To our families: thank you for trusting us with your children. It is such a privilege to spend these formative years alongside them. Watching them grow, explore, wonder, and connect with the natural world.
Whether your family was with us for one or several years, each child leaves a lasting impact on our hearts. We hope the memories made beneath the trees and among friends will stay with them for years to come.
While our school year may be over, we’ll still be popping in throughout the summer to share outdoor activity ideas, favorite memories from the year, updates from our FSNP community and more!
Wishing all of our FSNP families a summer filled with sunshine, adventure, curiosity, and plenty of time outdoors. ☀️🌲💚

As we close out the school year and welcome summer, we’re reflecting on all the incredible time our students spent learning, exploring, creating, and connecting outdoors. 🌱☀️
This year, we finished with an amazing 209 hours logged outside! 🌿🌎
Inspired by the 1000 Hours Outside Challenge, this global movement encourages families to match the average 1,200 hours of annual screen time with time spent outdoors.
We hope our students and families continue making outdoor memories all summer long! One adventure, muddy boot, and sunny day at a time. 🦋🍉✨

Not every moment in nature is easy, but each one carries meaning that helps grow empathy, understanding, and care for the world around us. 🌎
This week, our class experienced an unexpected moment in the circle of life. While visiting our classroom finches, we discovered they were no longer with us.
We gathered together to reflect, ask questions, and honor them. Our students helped hold a small burial, shared gratitude for what they had learned from them, and left a note from the class. 💛
Through it all, they showed compassion, curiosity, and strength, learning how to navigate life’s more difficult moments with kindness and resilience. ✨

A big thank you to all the families who joined us for our end-of-year picnic! 🧺🌿
We truly treasure these moments of connection and community with you all.
Making orange peel bird feeders together, sharing smiles, and spending time outdoors made the day so special. 🧡🐦

Everything is so lush and alive in our outdoor classroom right now. 🌿✨As we begin to wrap up the school year, we are holding onto the magical moments of our students exploring, playing, and connecting with nature.
Looking ahead, we are so excited for all the outdoor adventures still to come for everyone this summer! ☀️

A new little friend arrived at school last week… a beautiful Luna moth! 🌙
A student noticed the moth on the ground and paused to observe. “Why isn’t he flying?” the student mentioned. Was he too cold? Too damp from the dew? Did he just need sunshine?
With time, warmth, and patience, we watched nature take its course. By noon, he was gone, exactly when he was ready. ✨

Happy Earth Day from FSNP! 🌎💚
Through every season, the Earth gives us magical gifts. The fresh air we breathe, the trails we explore, the seasons we watch change before our eyes.
We are so thankful for the Earth and all the moments it gives us to learn, play, and wonder through our lives. 🌸☀️🍁❄️

Volunteer Month in action! 🌿
Caring for our park is part of who we are. Each day, we pack in and pack out. Always leaving our outdoor classroom better than we found it.
Last week, our city park hosted a volunteer day, so we spent part of our day picking up trash and caring for our outdoor classroom. 🌎✨
