It is with sorrow I share that we have lost a classmate.
Please know I am aware we have lost others, that being said, her family reached out directly and asked that I share this w our alumni.
Going forward, I would share any that would like me to do so.
Rest easy my friend…

Colleen Murphy Sperber, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend passed away on January 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Colleen was born on December 19, 1967, in Omaha, Nebraska. She attended Grinnell College for her undergraduate education, followed by University of Pittsburgh for her law degree. She then worked at a law firm in Philadelphia, where she met her husband, Brian, who was attending medical school. Colleen had a strong faith and Brian first approached Colleen at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Philadelphia.
She took time away from her profession to raise three amazing children. They were her heart and soul. Later, she returned to law and was honored to work at the firm of Sparks Willson P.C. When Brian fell ill to cancer, she chose to step away from her practice. Six months after Brian’s treatment ended Colleen was diagnosed with her own cancer.
Colleen is survived by her husband, Brian; her children, Luke, Hugh, and Ava; her mother, Karen Murphy; her sister, Cindy Smith; and her brother, David Murphy. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Murphy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24th at 11:00 am at Broadmoor Community Church, Lake Avenue, Colorado Springs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Colleen’s memory to CASA of the Pikes Peak Region or TESSA of Colorado Springs, organizations dedicated to protecting and supporting vulnerable members of the community—work that reflected Colleen’s compassion and value

Hello fellow classmates.
First off, let me explain that I am not entirely sure who else is an admin for our page. I have been assigned as one, however, I cannot tell if there are others, there is an email and a cell and I do not have access to either.
We are approaching our 40 year graduation anniversary, isn’t that wild?!
Had a few classmates who said we should try to plan some type of event(s) late summer/early fall.
Of course I am not necessarily on the planning committee so if anyone else has things already rolling, please let me know.
Time sure goes by quickly so we are doing our best to get dates on the calendar asap.

Anyone know Leslie Gillum from 88/88? She passed away and her family is scheduling a memorial service. They are trying to reach her friends. Please msg me if you need to reach out to family.

Again share this with fellow 86 huskies so I can get an idea on how many people are interested or Facebook my page for those of you who have me as a friend it is Chris Miller not Christopher Miller

Ok 86 HUSKIES need some input from you I just posted something somewhere about this years reunion don't know what happend didn't see it anywhere so I'm hoping this works. We are looking for someplace to have a picnic/cookout what we are looking for is a place to accommodate about 60 or so people including spouses significant others domestic partners ect. If you have done well for yourself and your family and have enough space vollenteers are welcome to host this momentous occasion. We are planning a bring your own food to be grilled and of course bring your own Beveridges of choice wether it be adult beveridge or not. I will be grilling whatever you bring to eat or anyone willing to help on the grill is welcome. Also about the grill if any of you metalshop folks can make a giant grill out of a 50 gallon drum or know where we can get one, that would be freaking awsome, Awsome (80s word of the day). Another possibility is waiting till September fellow 86 HUSKIE Lisa Clark Frazee has a connection at Scary Acres and may be able to get us a space there and if you call now we might be able to take in a Friday night football game in that same weekend depending on which weekend that may be this was an idea that the class of 85 did last year and sounded kinda cool to me. Anyway now that you have probablly lost interest by now I'll end with saying this please invite any other fellow 86ers you may have in your contacts to like this page and please leave any questions or comments on this page I'll be checking it every day if I have to thanks all......Chris Miller....proud to be an 86 Huskie

Northwest High School class wins Samsung's Solve for Tomorrow competition
There's a team project -- involving Northwest High School, the University of Nebraska-Omaha and the city of Omaha -- to help with city infrastructure issues, and the group is getting statewide recognition for its ideas.

Also looking for a group of individuals to help plan the reunion.
