Congratulations to our very own Dr. John Bartle, Distinguished Professor in the School of Public Administration, on his inauguration today as president of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). John is the past dean of UNO's College of Public Affairs and Community Service, a researcher, and an expert in public finance. He will be a valued leader of ASPA, an 8,000+ member society made of practitioners, academicians, and students in the field of public administration.

In his inaugural speech, John said, "Today, we stand in our nation’s capital during the most important and historic time for American government since 1861. Our international relations, political system, and public administration are all in turmoil. But it is precisely during such times that our commitment to the pillars of ASPA—efficiency, economy, effectiveness, and equity—becomes most critical."

We're so thankful and proud of his national leadership and dedication to public service. Congratulations, and thank you, John! 🎉🎉

More than 200 attended, learned and shared at this event, focused on engaging youth in civic matters. Well done, Jodi and team (including two of our Ph.D. candidates Jonathan Wong and Monica Lea).

UNO research finds young people want to be involved, but want to know how Youth "aren't always sure where to get started," the head of the project said.
