Meet Leo. He is the cousin of the Schumacher girls; Sophie, Lucy and Ava. The girls had a great idea to raise money for their cousin whom has special needs, as well as, down syndrome. So they began crafting bracelets and keychains to sell in order to raise money for the Step Up For Down Syndrome Walk on September 28. They have placed a table in the entry way with their handwork along with the frog classmates who took part in bracket making! Stop by the table and pick up a keychain or bracket, you simply scan their Mom, Rachel's, Venmo link and make a free will donation of your choosing in exchange for some extra bling. The lion you see on the keychain represents the strength baby Leo shows each day and is an inspirational movement as we form Leo's Pride.

This will be year 16 for me, 15 for Tracy and 5 for Brooke at Bright! We’ve taught so many wonderful students in the Gretna community and look forward to many more🐸💚

Bright Families stop by the Cheers For Peers Board when you come into the center. Each month we will highlight a Bright Classroom Team. We will put up the team's pictures so that parents and peers can add a sticky note with an accolade or positive message on how the team or a specific teacher has helped you or your child thrive in the center or at home!

First up is our Preschool Swinging Monkey Team! Ms. Liz, Ms. Monica, Ms. Jocelyn, and Ms. Cloey work collaboratively to give the children a positive space to interact with each other and work on all the skills necessary to be ready for pre-k and beyond!

In this month's blog, we hear from Rachel Schumacher, PhD. Rachel is a Licensed Psychologist and Assistant Professor at Monroe-Meyer Institute's Department of Psychology. She is also the CDC's Learn the Signs. Act Early. Ambassador to the state of Nebraska.

A message from Miss Kathy, our Toddler 1 Playful Puppies’ Program Lead…

Hello Bright From the Start Families! After my many years of working at BFTS, the time has come for me to retire. My 15 years here have been made wonderful and memorable thanks to you giving me the opportunity to work with and care for your children. I appreciate all of the time I've had at Bright, and getting to know all of families over the years has been a sincere pleasure. After retiring I plan to spend more time hanging out with and helping my adult children with all my grandkids. I also look forward to spending more time with my aging parents, and traveling with my husband! I leave you all in good hands with Ms. Marlene taking over the role of Lead Teacher in the Playful Puppies. Marlene has been at BFTS for a year and has been training with me during this time to eventually take over for me. She is an amazing teacher with a very kind and loving heart! My last day at Bright From the Start will be Friday, June 28th. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this information please feel free to contact me!
