UNO Student Named 2024 Newman Civic Fellow UNO is proud to announce that Garrett Connely, a junior double majoring in international studies and political science, has been selected as one of the 2024 cohort of Newman Civic Fellows. The fellowship represents a group of student civic leaders from 38 states, Washington, D.C., and Mexico.

Presidential Scholar Will Bring Passion for Chemistry to UNO Already busy this summer with a Scott Scholars internship doing work for the U.S. Air Force, Joe Conner will begin his UNO journey this fall, studying chemistry and likely physics with dreams of pursuing a career in nuclear chemistry.

Bridging Communication to Research Driven by a thirst for knowledge and the need for something different, Eva Burklund's journey took an unexpected turn. What she once considered 'random opportunities' became stepping stones toward her newfound passion for research.
