Today Lauren Daake had to step in and step up to take the place of a sick teammate. Mik had to adjust to someone she had never played with, in the most difficult tournament of the year. All with less than 24 hours' notice. And they fought hard to secure a first-round victory in #1 doubles, winning in two sets with a second set tiebreaker that ended up 8-6.

Last night Lauren won the "K" award, because when you ask her to fix something or work on something, she always happily responds, " 'kay." Six girls pushed through today, and even though the outcome wasn't always a "W," it was still a worthwhile outcome. No one gave up. No one gave in. And leaving the court with your pride, dignity, and the realization that you tried your hardest will always be worth more than a win.

I wish all the girls could go to state next week, but...finals await! Please do come to the banquet on Wednesday the 17th. We have awards to give out including varsity letters.

I am so blessed to have worked with these multi-talented girls this year! They rocked the Limited and First Edition concert tonight! With Abby Witulski, Maddy Witulski, Keeli Boesiger, Katie Steffen, Vivienne Meier, Haylie Hogge. Guess which one can play a ukulele???

Awesome matches today in our triangular against Norris and Elkhorn South. The season is ending for our JV and non-tourney Varsity, which is bittersweet. These girls are amazing!
Tomorrow we leave for Kearney; go Lady O!

The First Annual Beatrice Doubles' Tournament is in the books, and Beatrice girls finished first in team scoring. The #1 and #3 doubles' teams took first place, while the #2 doubles' team had the most heart-stopping matches! Thank you Coach Jackie for coordinating the whole shindig, and to Maddie Witulski, Jorja, Neal, and Kerry for helping. Also thank you to the parents for supporting your girls and bringing food. Lastly, Lauren and Abby deserve a prize for stepping in to help out Wilber-Clatonia on short notice.

Ugh. Sorry for sending your girls home so full of crab rangoon...83 of them to be exact! Who said girls can't eat!
