Gretna East Softball Volunteers with ALLPlay

This past Saturday, the Gretna East Softball team had the opportunity to volunteer with ALLPlay, an organization that provides athletes with physical and developmental disabilities the opportunity to play baseball in a barrier-free environment.

Our girls did an incredible job. They jumped right in, interacted with the athletes, played alongside them and helped create a fun and welcoming experience for everyone involved. They represented themselves, their team and the Gretna Public Schools district extremely well.

One person who witnessed the girls volunteering shared a wonderful compliment: "The Gretna East girls are top of their volunteer list because of how they interact and play with the kids. I thought that was really awesome, and I hope they keep doing this every year."

That is exactly the kind of impact we love to see from our student-athletes. We are so proud of these girls for giving their time, showing kindness and making a difference in their community.

Way to go, Gretna East Softball.

What a wonderful way to welcome our newest staff members to Gretna Public Schools!

Journey Church hosted a breakfast for our new staff, giving them an opportunity to connect, enjoy some time together, and start feeling at home in our community.

We are so excited to welcome these new members of the Gretna family and thankful for Journey Church and their support of our schools.

96 of our special education paraprofessionals gathered at Gretna East High School for a day of professional development as they prepare to support students throughout the 2026-27 school year.

This is an incredibly dedicated group of staff members who bring compassion, patience, and commitment to their work every day. They live out Gretna Public Schools' mission to unconditionally accept all students and maximize their potential.

We are grateful for the important role they play in supporting our students and for the care they bring to their work each day.

Thank you for all you do for our students and for being such an important part of The Gretna Way!

Students will have an opportunity to make changes to their requested courses July 29th, 30th, or 31st. In order to make a change, students need to schedule an appointment to come and meet with their school counselor.
Students may only request a change if:
There is a course error
A level change is needed (ex: regular to CP or CP to DC)

The link to make an appointment is posted in the student’s grade-level Counseling Google Classroom. The deadline to meet with a school counselor for a change is Friday, July 31st at 3:00 pm.
Note: If requested classes are full, changes may not be possible.
