What a glorious day! Our students got to "horse around" at Ponca Hills Farm to learn about the caring of horses, tour the stables, enjoy a delicious lunch, hike, and games! To say the experience was amazing is an understatement, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect! Thank you so much to Kathy Noel for helping us coordinate, and to Jan Mactier Moriarty and her incredible staff at the farm for welcoming us for the day!

Our students were in for a technology treat earlier this week! Metropolitan Community College's () technology department stopped by to showcase their awesome robotic dog and the power of computer programming! They walked the robotic dog around to greet students, explain its controls, do some tricks, and prance around. Thank you so much for stopping by Metropolitan community college and inspiring our kids to think big!

Our 8th graders are rounding out their school year with a service experience at Re*****on Heights Retirement Home. These incredible students again chose to honor their elders by giving them a gift of fellowship and time! Students were playing bingo alongside residents, and were even accompanied by some of our Creighton Prep volunteers! Thank you for making service to others a priority in our students’ lives, Mrs. Miller!

You continue to impress us, 8th graders! Well done!

One week ago, our school once again stopped to at Lauritzen Gardens during their Earth Day celebration! Amongst the beauty of nature, the Garden featured an incredible exhibit of wooden troll art pieces created by artist Thomas Dambo. There were also local organizations present to teach students about plant husbandry, and to offer them fun, colorful crafts to create.

Thank you for this incredible free event! It was such a warm and beautiful day to celebrate our "blue marble" home in the cosmos!

We at Phoenix Academy are extremely proud to welcome the newest member of our team, Mr. Parker Adair, as our first ever School Counselor!

Parker Adair has worked with kids since he started coaching at age 14, and he remains a big kid at heart. He has years of working with multiple grade levels—having taught Pre-K up to eighth grade—including teaching middle school Title I math and reading classes at Boys' Town. His energy, humor, and empathy are some of his biggest assets. Mr. Adair is a passionate fan of Mister Rogers and is known to bring in his puppets to "interact" with students at school. Having spent a year studying the work of Fred Rogers with a cohort in the Educators Neighborhood, Mr. Adair follows Fred’s principle: “Feelings are mentionable and manageable.”

Welcome to the team, Mr. Adair!
